I had an appointment this week with my psychiatrist and I have been on a natural high ever since.
I am used to my psychiatrist being positive and compassionate but he surprised me with a very big compliment. He told me that I am his most highly functioning patient with my diagnosis. He said I am so highly functioning that I understand so much about my condition and that in his opinion I live a very good normal life. This compliment was just what I needed to hear because for the last several months my life has been a series of curve balls that though challenging I have coped well with. I always feel good when I offload to my psychiatrist because he has empathy and compassion by the truckload.
