What strategies do you use to cope with negative feelings?
There are a few strategies that i use to cope with negative feelings. First of all i talk to different people in my network of friends. It helps to offload. If I believe that those feelings are having an impact on my mental health then I would talk to my psychiatrist as a priority. It is always good for him to know about the things in my life that cause me stress.
I also practice mindfulness in my everyday life and try to do things at a relaxed pace.
I also use music 🎶 as therapy and have a ever expanding play list. Different music 🎶 🎵 evokes different memories and experiences. I also love to dance and sway to music 🎶 it makes me feel good
I give a lot of attention to Lily my dog 🐕 if I am feeling not great. Patting her, talking to her and playing with her helps immensely and she is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. If you are lonely a dog can bring so much to your life
Thinking of Susanna and the impact she had on my life always makes me happy and helps when life’s ups and downs get a little too real.
Writing this blog and my other writings ✍️ also works for me to offload and write ✍️ about the things that make up my life.
